 ALL MCA AND DOLS COURSES ARE FREE!

Please find below our programme of courses from September 2009 - March 2010.

We have now incorporated DOLS into all of our mainstream courses, and so for those of you who have yet to attend either an MCA or DOLS course you can now get knowledge on both these subjects in one day.

We are still running 3 more DOLS half day sessions for those of you who already feel you have a good working knowledge of the MCA and just need an update on the new legislation.

These are running on 15th September (1:30pm -4:30pm) at Eastpoint and 7th October (9:30am -12:30pm and 1:30pm - 4:30pm) at Basingstoke Golf Club.

Core Courses:

Managers' Briefing
Managers' Briefings are designed to help you, as senior staff, think through what impact the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards will have on service users, staff, policies, procedures and working practices. All delegates on the Managers' briefing will receive a free copy of the MCA and DOLS Codes of Practice.

MCA & DOLS in Practice

MCA and DOLS in practice provides delegates with an opportunity to improve their knowledge and understanding of MCA and DOLS beyond a basic awareness. The course revisits the key requirements of the legislation in the context of daily work and will enable delegates to develop their own and other's practice in delivery of personalised care. This course is an ideal preparatory course to the MCA/DOLS Train the Trainer course.

Train the Trainer

This course will provide the knowledge and materials to enable you to deliver basic level Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards awareness training to your staff.

You must have attended either the Managers' Briefing or MCA & DOLS in Practice within the last 6 months to be eligible to attend our Train the Trainer course.

This site provides a virtual one-stop shop for all of the training information required by Care managers and employees.  

The way that qualifications are organised and structured is changing. This includes ALL vocational qualifications in ALL sectors. The current National Qualifications Framework (NFQ) will be replaced by The Qualification and Credit Framework.(QCF)

This is a government initiative across England Wales and Northern Ireland.

The QCF is a new flexible way of recognising and rewarding skills and qualifications. The QCF will present units and qualifications in a simpler way and it will lead to qualifications that are flexible and meet the skill and knowledge needs of the workforce.
